BGMC stands for “Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge. This is the missions education program for Boys and Girls in the Assemblies of God. The money raised through BGMC goes to support missionaries all over the world! Here’s how it happens: Kids go to church and bring home a “Buddy Barrel” (he’s kinda like the mascot for BGMC). On top of his head is a slot for money. Kids go around collecting money, raising money or begging for money! They put it in the Buddy Barrel and take it to church. At church they turn their money in. Guess what? When hundreds of thousands of kids do this, the money really adds up! Last year kids in North Carolina gave over $74,000 to BGMC!! In the entire United States, kids gave $5,700,000 to BGMC! Missionaries all over the world used that money to help them with different projects.
